About

I’m Ade and this site is about my drumming.

You can watch my play along videos, listen to my audio recordings and find out about the gear I use and how I record.

My drumming journey story started in the summer of 2015 when I scratched the drumming itch that had been developing over a year or so beforehand, and bought myself a Roland TD-25kv electronic kit. The bug bit and I was hooked (er… sorry about the mixed metaphors).

As much as I love playing my Roland-kit, once I knew that drumming was a skill I really wanted to learn, it was only a matter of time before I got an acoustic kit – though not before I converted a decent sized room in my basement into a music and recording space where, hopefully, I can play without annoying the household and neighbours.

This site is a place where I can publish the recordings and videos I’ve made, and continue to make. Not everything is 100% and perfectly packaged – there’s a lot of work in progress stuff here, too. For some of my favourite cover songs I also provide breakdowns of key beats and fills, with recorded examples and notation, which I use as a personal reference source, and which may be of use to others keen to play the same songs. I’m by no means an expert, so what you find here are my interpretations, my ideas, and my take on these songs.

I’m also a total gear nerd, so there is quite a lot of focus on the gear I use and why I have chosen it.

I hope you enjoy what you find here. If you like what you find, I’d love to hear from you.

Cheers! And happy drumming!

Ade.
